Doug is a washed-up, Percocet addicted Florida man circling the drain Jobless, divorced, and teetering on the edge after being fired from cleaning aquariums at a sleazy strip club. With nothing left to lose, he speeds his boat into the Gulf, planning to disappear into the deep blue forever. But instead of death, he finds Destiny… literally. An actual mermaid. Mysterious, otherworldly, wounded, and barely alive.

He sees it as a sign from the universe and drags her back to his home, plops her in the tub, and nurses her back to health like some warped Ron Howard-directed fairy tale come to life in a Florida fever dream. But when word gets out about the sea creature, Doug spirals into madness, willing to do anything to keep her safe. Even if it means murder.
