Film San Antonio’s Coffee Talk networking mixer resumes on, Friday July 11th. This time, in partnership with San Antonio’s CineFestival! Come mingle, caffeinate (or decaffeinate), and connect with creative collaborators from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM in the Carver Community Cultural Center Lobby. CineFestival staff will share an exciting overview of the festival’s dynamic film program and schedule.
US Showcase 3: Women Directors
3 - 5 PM @ The Little Carver Civic Center
Winding through the maze of downtown Chicago, the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors work alongside the Field Museum and Willowbrook Wildlife Center to rescue birds that collide with windows, and study the birds that are killed during their annual migrations. The tenderhearted work presents a lens of environmental change that impacts every landscape. Erika Valenciana is a Chicana filmmaker from Chicago. She is a graduate of the Film & Video program at Columbia College Chicago.
SENIOR CINEMA: Valentina or the Serenity / Valentina o la serenidad & Susana

Senior Cinema | Valentina loses her father in an accident in the river, not satisfied with the explanation of death, she looks for him everywhere without success, She then becomes a lonely girl, her family and time will help her accommodate the absence and overcome grief. | A middle-aged American woman finds herself alone in Mexico City. When she encounters a group of young American tourists, she jumps at the opportunity for a little adventure.

After sixteen years of silence, filmmaker Mabel Valdiviezo returns to Peru to reunite with her family. As haunting childhood memories and long-held resentments resurface, she confronts the emotional toll of her troubled past as an undocumented immigrant in the United States.

When Cassie, a stoic L.A. lawyer, is forced to return to Texas after the sudden death of her ex, she must face the angsty teenage daughter she gave up at birth. Grief and grudges give way to a darkly comic journey toward forgiveness—and the fragile beginning of a bond that neither expected.
