The Reel Thrilling Events Of Bank Robber Henry Starr, From Gentleman Bandit To Movie Star And Back Again Is Being Published In July 2025 By The University Of North Texas Press. Henry Starr Was A Real Horseback Bandit Who Lived Long Enough To See The Invention Of The Motion Picture Camera. When He Was Released From The Oklahoma Penitentiary In 1919, He Was Flooded With Offers From Movie Producers To Star In His Own Movies. He Made A Debtor To The Law, But Because Of Censorship By The Women's Christian Temperance Union, His Film Couldn't Play In The Big Theatres. To Fund His Next Motion Picture, He Decided To Rob One Last Bank.
